Adrie and Inneke VAN DER RHEE 'Winning Ways' 1st National Pau Part 2

Adrie and Inneke VAN DER RHEE are well known in the Netherlands for their performances in speed, middle distance and long distance competitions. It has only been since 2012 that they play the marathon competitions, and now in 2014 they achieve a first national on Pau. It's beautiful, isn't it?

This weekend, on the 1st ZLU competition, it was clear that with the north wind, we should not expect to see a pigeon fall on the day of release, in the Netherlands. But the next morning, after the neutralization, the pigeons fell with a machine gun in the southern part of the country and, around 8:45 am, the first announcements arrived from dovecotes with +/- 1100 kilometers. In the first 250, listed on the ZLU website, there are names that come up repeatedly. The most frequent, Arjan BEENS (1138 km) with the 25th, 34th, 37th, 46th, 141st, 161st or 6 pigeons ranked in the top out of 11 played. He is almost equalled by Ysbrand KAPTEIN (1095 km) who ranks 5/14 in the top 250: 13th, 118th, 148th, 174th, 219th. Still with 5 pigeons in the top 250, Jac VAN DEN BOSCH: 8th, 9th, 145th, 190th & 205th. They follow Gérard VAN TUYL with 4 times TOP 100 National (1032 km – 2nd, 43rd, 64th, 84th) and the tandem DE GROOT+LEIJEN (1099 km – 27th, 77th, 88th, 128th) with also 4 prizes in the TOP 150. Only one pigeon of all 3019 pigeons passed the 1000 m/m mark. From 2nd to 62nd place, speeds are between 900 m/m and 1000 m/m.
